Problem #1
Delivery is scheduled for 2:00pm. My husband takes the afternoon off work to make sure everything is ready for them. Old appliances out cleaned the room and all that jazz. I received a phone call from Julian, the delivery guy. He says he will be late expect him around 4. I told him We are available until 5 because the children have Karate. Okay he says I will put an extra step on it.
4:46 rolls around NO DELIVERY
I call and they say they will bring it tomorrow. Problem with that is my husband took TODAY off not tomorrow. Anyway, he sends the washer and dryer with someone off the sales floor and arrives at 5:15 (the MINUTE we have to leave with the kids). At this point I have left a rush order that HAD to be done to come home. I had to go back and finish it after this.
PROBLEM #2
Let me first state their is a sidewalk that runs from my driveway ALL THE WAY to the concrete ramp up to my back porch with a door that leads DIRECTLY INTO my laundry room. Probably the easiest delivery path of ALL time.
He has the dryer on the dolly and scraps the bottom of the front of the dryer on the metal part of the door frame. I paid $1,412.00 ( I rounded the change up to a full dollar) for a scratched up set?!?!?!?

PROBLEM #3
He ripped THREE holes in my flooring. This one is about a quarter in size. Of course it is right in the walkway to the back door so perfect!!

At this point he has said he will give me a little money back on my dryer, but has not named an amount. He said he will have to come view the floor. I will see how he does.
Hopefully I will not be disappointed further. I know I will NOT be shopping at Sears again. I only shopped there this time because I know the economy has been rough on all the "small" stores in our area and I was trying to not shop at Lowe's or Walmart. I should have purchased at Lowe's.

Holy Hole batmat!! That's aweful!! You know, if they don't make it right to you after you've tried to negotiate faithfully, go through the Better Business Bureau. They don't like those kind of complaints against them, especially with business being like it is these days. I hope you have luck!
Oh if they don't make it right they can pick up both pieces and give all my money back AND replace my floor.
Whoa, I would be VERY unhappy as well. Did they do ANYTHING right?? Doesn't look like it!
Well I LIKE the new washer and dryer I picked out. They are the Kenmore Oasis set. Pretty quiet and I can wash and dry a full load in 80 minutes. My old washer and dryer took 120 minutes to do a load before it started breaking down. It got to the point where it would take 2-2.5 hours to do one load of clothes.
AHHHH!! You are a lot nicer than I would have been...the dented dryer would have been taken out of my house the minute he did the damage. Take it back and get me a new one.
We bought our appliances from Sears, through a contracting agent. He was very nice and when they brought us the "wrong" dryer, he kindly replaced it.
I worked for Sears for a long time, and they are a good company. I hope they fix your floor and give you a HUGE discount, or a new dryer.
So sorry, I get so excited for my new stuff, and then when it comes ruined or ruins my house....UHG......I will keep all my fingers and toes crossed for Sears to set things straight.
Oh MAN!!! If I were you, I would be complaining to the regional office!!
Sully - I know how that feels! It's infuriating!! Argh.
