In this picture they are trying to strike a "cool" pose. silly boys.

This week they will learn how to tie their white belt. I tied them in this picture and I am sure I did it wrong, but I wanted a picture in their Gi before they stain it up. I have high hopes for Karate. Alec is super into it and it will be a good energy release for him during and between sports seasons. Kyle's gross motor skills are okay, but could really use more refining. He is clumsy like me (sorry Kyle). I am hoping that Karate lessons will help Kyle be more aware of where his hands and feet are and maybe give him more self confidence. Alec should be able to defend himself better also. Hopefully he won't need it, but with that big kid named Mason knocking him down and wishing him dead at the after school program he might just need the extra help. OR maybe the teachers will watch the kids and notice when the same kid is knocking my kid down daily without me having to go and tell them (I have done this now, but I had hoped it would work itself out without Mommy having to save him).
Check out the trim around my front door...it is the wood that is leaning in the corner...it has only been a year since the new door was installed. *rolls eyes* My husband is motivated, can you tell?

Right over left, left over right. It makes a little square knot :)) I got my brown belt in my earlier days. I'd love to get back to it, never was fitter than I was then. Those were the good days. Your boys will have fun and they will learn a multitude of things from respect, to self confidence, to health, to more motor skills and counting in japanses (at least we had to). It's an excellent sport to be involved in. And they'll learn wax on, wax off was actually based on a real karate move :O who knew? Unless they are too young for karate kid, then they just won't care :) YAY!! Take lots of pictures :)
I wish my girls would do Karate! They only want to do things that involve leotards and tutus. (sigh)
Good luck with the drop-off party. Its okay to stay and get a feel for it before you head out the door. And its okay to decide to stay too! (Its so hard to let them go even a little, tiny bit.)
Oh girl, the front door, sigh...my hubby is the same! I have wires hanging down under my cabinets from four years ago. he is an electrician. I will never have under cabinet lights. Sigh.....LOL!! :)
And I am so jealous you have PW's action set. Sigh......I wish I could use them. I only have elements.
Your dogs are super adorable. I did some back reading and is that an American bulldog? So handsome!! I am a bit dog crazy myself. I would love to get a lab, but I just can't handle more than two with three kids! LOL!!
I love the Karate poses!! Very nice!! I think all boys should take karate.
Thanks for stopping by my blog!! :)
